Ordering

When you place an order through our webshop at www.sekelskifte.com or by emailing order@sekelskifte.se, we confirm the order by sending an order confirmation to the email address you provided. This order confirmation serves as confirmation that a purchase agreement has been made between you and Sekelskifte 1900 AB (Sekelskifte). Completing an order also implies that you accept our terms of purchase and consent to the registration of your name and personal or organization number in our systems. We reserve the right to correct or cancel your order if delivery is not possible for any reason, and we also reserve the right to combine multiple orders and deliver them in a single package if you have placed several orders. Certain items are made-to-order, and some of these items are ordered via email or phone. For these types of orders, specific shipping and delivery terms apply. Sekelskifte does not enter into agreements with individuals who are not of legal age (18 years).

Order Modifications or Cancellations
A modification or cancellation is only valid once you have received confirmation from us. If a modification is approved, any price differences will be adjusted according to the price applicable at the time of modification. You may cancel or modify your order free of charge until the order has been processed, meaning an invoice or shipping document has been created. After this point, you are obligated to accept the delivery. However, as our customer, you always have a 30-day right of withdrawal, as outlined in the “Right of Withdrawal” section below. Special rules apply to cancellations of custom-made items.

We reserve the right to cancel orders that contain incorrect personal information and/or where the customer has a poor credit history, or if an order was created using automated methods, such as software, bots, web crawlers, scripts, or third-party services acting on your behalf.

Pricing and Information on Our Website
The prices displayed in our webshop include VAT if you reside within the EU. If you are outside the EU, the displayed prices exclude VAT. We reserve the right to correct any errors in price and product information on the website. In the event of an incorrect price, we reserve the right to adjust it retrospectively. Naturally, you as the customer will be asked if you wish to proceed with the purchase before we make such a change.

We also reserve the right to make price changes, sell out items, handle stock discrepancies, address technical issues, change technical specifications, and correct any typographical errors on our site. We reserve the right to amend product information and prices without prior notice. Images displayed in our webshop should not be considered exact representations of a particular item.

Please note that color reproduction on our website may vary depending on screens and screen settings, meaning we cannot guarantee that product images and samples will accurately represent the item’s appearance and characteristics. Colors and shades may differ between the image and the actual product. For samples, only the physical sample can serve as a reference. Especially for natural materials, such as wood moldings, wooden floors, tiles, and stone with marbling, variations may occur between different pieces. This is a natural feature of such materials and contributes to the unique character of each product.

Products Ordered for Use Outside Sweden
Sekelskifte ships products to several different countries. As the customer, it is your responsibility to ensure that the ordered products comply with the local regulations and standards applicable in the country where the products will be used. This may include, but is not limited to, regulations for electrical products, faucets, and other products related to water and electricity. Regulations and standards vary between countries, so it is important for you as the customer to verify that the product is approved and safe to use in the intended environment.

Sekelskifte accepts no responsibility for any complications that may arise if products are used or installed in violation of local regulations.

Payment

At Sekelskifte, we collaborate with reliable and reputable payment services such as Klarna, PayPal, and Adyen to ensure secure and seamless transactions. When you pay by card, your card details are never stored on our servers; all card information is managed directly by our payment partners, who follow strict security protocols according to the PCI DSS standard.

Card Payment – VISA, MasterCard & American Express
We work with Klarna; for more information, see Klarna Checkout - Quick Checkout. When paying by card, you will enter your card number, expiration date, and CVC/CVV code. We accept payments with VISA, MasterCard, and American Express (AMEX).

Swish
Pay quickly and securely with your mobile! All you need is the Swish app and a valid Bank-ID installed on your phone. Open the app and follow the instructions on your phone to complete the purchase. Once the payment is approved, the funds are immediately withdrawn from the account linked to Swish, and you will automatically be redirected to the order confirmation page.

For custom orders, please contact our customer service. Advance payments may be required.

Sekelskifte reserves the right to conduct a credit check if necessary to grant credit. As a customer, you agree to pay within the specified time for the selected payment method. Late payment may result in additional fees and interest charges.

Refunds
In cases where refunds are applicable, they will primarily be processed using the same method as the original payment. Refunds are processed within a few days once the issue causing the refund has been resolved.

Shipping & Delivery

The shipping methods offered vary depending on the size of your order and your location. To see which shipping options are available for your order, simply add an item to your cart and proceed to checkout.

Shipping & Administration Fee
In addition to the price displayed for each product in our webshop, a shipping and administration fee may be applied. This fee covers costs for handling, packaging, shipping, and materials. The applicable shipping and administration fee for your order will be shown at checkout and will also appear on your order confirmation.

Delivery Time
The delivery time stated in our webshop or on your order confirmation is an estimated delivery time and not a guaranteed delivery time. If you are in a hurry, we recommend contacting our customer service to confirm before placing your order.

Delivery Delays
Please note that delivery times shown for each product on our website and on order confirmations are only indications. Delivery times may be extended due to unforeseen delays. In certain parts of northern Sweden and Gotland, deliveries may be delayed by a day or two, which may not be included in the estimated delivery time shown on our website.

We keep nearly all of our products in stock, but occasionally, an item may be out of stock both in our warehouse and with our supplier. Our goal is to always inform you as soon as possible of any delivery delays. If a delay occurs and causes an inconvenience for you, we will try to assist you with suggestions for a similar product, if available.

If a delay occurs, you have the right to cancel the purchase free of charge. Please note, however, that this does not apply to custom-made items or products produced according to your unique specifications.

Please be aware that Sekelskifte does not compensate for delivery delays. Never book a contractor until you have received and inspected the product. If you are in a hurry, please call and confirm with us before placing an order.

Delivery to Islands
For orders through our webshop, it is not possible to get direct delivery to islands without a fixed road connection (Gotland is an exception to this rule). If you have chosen delivery to a pickup location, your order will be sent to the nearest pickup point on the mainland. If you would like delivery to an island without a road connection, please contact our customer service at +46 8-41009325 or email info@sekelskifte.se, and we will do our best to assist you.

Shipping Damage
Sekelskifte covers any damage incurred during transport to you. If you notice any shipping damage to the product or packaging upon receipt, please report this immediately to the carrier by noting the damage on the waybill before accepting the delivery. If you see or hear right away that an item is completely broken, such as a sink with broken porcelain pieces rattling in the box, you should not accept the item. Ask the carrier to return the entire shipment. Always photograph visible shipping damage. For large pallet deliveries of bulky goods, we recommend inspecting the goods together with the carrier. Any damage should be reported immediately to our customer service so that we can best assist you with your claim. The same applies to any hidden damage discovered after receiving the shipment. Damage must be reported to us within 48 hours of receiving the delivery. It is therefore important to unpack and inspect your items thoroughly right after delivery or when picking up the package from a pickup location. If you delay inspecting the item and thereby miss discovering any shipping damage, the transport insurance will not apply, and we will not be able to replace the items, as the carrier will not compensate us.

If there is severe damage, do not use the product, and contact our customer service immediately at +46 8-41009325 or via email at info@sekelskifte.se to report the damage. It is also essential to save the packaging so the damage can be inspected as part of the claims process.

For direct deliveries to companies, delivery terms DDU 022 – Free to the specified delivery address without unloading – apply.

Partial Deliveries
For larger orders, it may happen that the order is divided into several deliveries. We recognize that this may not always be desirable, and we strive to minimize the number of partial deliveries to make the process as convenient as possible for you as our customer.

Unclaimed or Undelivered Goods
As the buyer, you are responsible for collecting or receiving your order within the timeframe specified in the notification. Packages not collected from the pickup location within 7 days will be returned to us, and we will charge a fee of SEK 150 for shipping and administrative costs. For direct deliveries or larger shipments requiring pallet or piece-goods handling, our carriers may charge fees for failed delivery attempts and storage if the delivery is not received on time. If delivery is not booked within four business days, you will be charged any applicable storage fees. Please note that if you change your mind and wish to return an item, you must first collect the package and then return it according to the return instructions below.

Our Shipping Methods

Sekelskifte partners with several logistics companies, allowing us to offer a broad range of shipping options to our customers. The shipping method offered depends on the size of your order and your location. Within Sweden, we use the following shipping methods:

Delivery to Pickup Point with PostNord
Delivery is made to the nearest pickup point based on your postal code. You will receive an SMS notification when your package is ready for pickup. The package can then be collected within 7 days upon presentation of valid ID and shipping information. In most cases, the recipient can sign for the package using Bank-ID in the PostNord app and allow someone else to pick it up. Please note that in smaller towns, pickup points may have limited delivery times, which can affect delivery time. Sekelskifte reserves the right to send smaller items that fit in a padded envelope and can be delivered to Posten's yellow mailboxes directly to the customer’s mailbox.

Home Delivery and Delivery to Parcel Box with Budbee
We offer home delivery and delivery to parcel boxes with Budbee in many parts of Sweden. These postal codes are within Budbee’s delivery area. We reserve the right to change the shipping method if Budbee does not deliver to your postal code. SMS notification is sent once the package is scanned at Budbee's terminal, usually the day after it leaves our warehouse. If you cannot receive the package on the scheduled delivery day, you can book a new day via the link in the SMS.

Home and Direct Delivery with PostNord
PostNord delivers to private addresses within the agreed-upon time slot on weekdays between 08:00 and 21:00. You can also choose to have the delivery made even if no one is home. You will receive a notification via SMS, email, or the PostNord app when the package is on its way. Here, you can select the delivery day and time. PostNord delivers to the door or property boundary, and you are responsible for bringing the item inside. The package must be inspected and signed for upon delivery.

For companies with staff available during regular office hours, packages are generally delivered directly to the specified address without prior notification.

Direct Delivery - Pallet and Piece Goods
For heavier and bulkier deliveries (pallets and piece goods), we deliver directly to private customers and business customers using PostNord, DHL, and Expresservice. The items are delivered to the door if you live in an apartment or to the property boundary if you live in a house. Products are delivered during the day and require the recipient to sign for the goods. Unfortunately, we cannot control the transporter’s times and delivery days. In some smaller towns in Sweden, the carrier may only have home deliveries on certain days of the week. Upon receipt of the goods, they should be thoroughly inspected before being signed for. If there is visible damage to the packaging or item, this should be noted on the waybill before signing. Transport companies generally do not leave goods without a signature from the customer or an authorized recipient. This means you are responsible for ensuring someone is available to receive and sign for the goods when delivery is made.

Right of Withdrawal and Returns

According to the Swedish Distance and Off-Premises Sales Act, as a consumer, you always have a 14-day right of withdrawal. To ensure you feel completely confident in your purchase, Sekelskifte instead offers a 30-day right of withdrawal from the date you receive the item.

To exercise your right of withdrawal or make a return, please contact us within 30 days of receiving the item(s). You can email us at info@sekelskifte.se or call us at +46 8-41009325. We will need the following information from you:

1. Order number (found on your order confirmation, packing slip, or invoice)

2. Name and contact information

3. Item number and quantity of the products to be returned.

You must receive confirmation from us that the return is approved before sending back the items. We will provide a return number, which must always be used in communication with us.

When invoking the right of withdrawal, you, as the customer, are responsible for the return shipping. Smaller items can be returned free of charge in person to our store on Karlavägen or to our warehouse in Västberga. Heavier and/or bulky items can only be returned to our warehouse. If you cannot return them in person, you may send the items back to us. Return shipping is always booked by us, and we will email you a return shipping label. The return cost within Sweden is SEK 69 for packages and SEK 695 for pallets. Heavy goods, such as sinks, toilets, washbasins, stoves, and tiles, must always be returned via pallet shipping.

To be eligible for the right of withdrawal, the item must be unused and undamaged, and the original packaging must be intact and clean. If the item or packaging is not in its original condition, a price reduction may be applied corresponding to the item’s depreciation. It is important to return items in complete original packaging. Tiles purchased in whole boxes must be returned in whole boxes. For tiles we do not stock (special orders), a 25% return fee will apply.

Cancelling a Special Order
If you wish to cancel a special-order item, we will assist you as much as possible. Please contact our customer service as soon as possible if you wish to cancel a special-order item, ideally within 24 hours of placing the order. This is to ensure we have not already forwarded your order to our manufacturer. In some exceptional cases, it may be possible to cancel the purchase even after 24 hours, but only if we are able to cancel the order with our supplier, which we cannot guarantee. If canceling the order after production has started incurs costs for us, we reserve the right to deduct these costs from the amount refunded, for example, by retaining all or part of any deposit paid.

You do not have the right to withdraw if the nature of the item means it cannot be returned. The Swedish Distance and Off-Premises Sales Act contains several provisions that limit the right of withdrawal. Please note that under Section 5, the right of withdrawal/return does not apply to contracts for "an item to be manufactured or significantly modified according to the consumer's specific requests or otherwise given a clear personal character." Examples of such items include goods made to order and customized to the customer’s specifications. The right of withdrawal also does not apply (according to Section 11, point 4) to "items that may deteriorate quickly or become too old." Examples in our product range include wood products such as wooden floors, moldings, and wood paneling. The reason is that wood is a natural material sensitive to moisture and temperature, which may be damaged if, for example, the packaging is opened or the item is stored incorrectly. Exceptions are also mentioned under Section 6: "an item that, due to its nature, is mixed with other items in such a way that they cannot be separated." Examples of such items include mixed paint or a custom alloy on a faucet or fixture.

We do not guarantee delivery times, only passing on the supplier’s estimated delivery times. Delivery times may vary depending on the supplier’s workload at any given time. Extended delivery times are generally not a valid reason for canceling a special order.

Customer Responsibility for Returns
As the customer, you are responsible for the item until it has been received by us. Returns may not be sent COD or to a pickup location.

For businesses purchasing from Sekelskifte, the Swedish Sale of Goods Act applies.

Refunds
When we have received and inspected the returned item, we will refund the value of the item as soon as possible, but no later than 30 days in accordance with the Swedish Distance Sales Act. Please note that shipping and return shipping costs are non-refundable. The refund will be issued through the same payment method used for the original purchase. If Klarna was used for the purchase, the amount will be refunded via Klarna, and so on.

Complaints

If a defect in a product is due to a manufacturing error, as a private customer, you have the right to file a complaint within three years from the date you received the product, in accordance with the Consumer Purchases Act. The right of complaint applies only to original manufacturing defects and does not cover damage resulting from careless handling, user error, general wear and tear, or failure to follow care instructions.

If you receive a defective or incorrect item, please contact our customer service immediately at info@sekelskifte.se. Describe the defect as thoroughly as possible, preferably with photos, and provide your contact details and order number. Complaints should be made in accordance with the instructions you receive from us. In the case of an approved complaint, Sekelskifte will cover the cost of new shipping and any return shipping.

Important to Note

  • Never book a contractor before you have checked that the correct items have been delivered and that no damage has occurred during transport.
  • Defective or incorrect items must not be installed, as this is considered acceptance of the delivery.
  • A complaint must be reported to us as soon as possible after receiving the delivery. This does not apply if it is only during installation that an error or defect is discovered.
  • Complaints regarding building materials such as wood moldings, wooden floors, tiles, cornices, wallpaper, and paint are not accepted after installation.

Natural Materials and Complaints
Many of our products are made from natural materials such as wood, metal, stone, and plaster. These materials often vary in appearance, size, and structure, which is entirely normal. Variations such as knots, grain patterns, color shifts, structural differences, marbling, marks, and scars are natural and do not constitute valid reasons for a complaint. To preserve the quality of natural materials over time, it is essential to follow the care instructions we provide at purchase and on our website. Sekelskifte reserves the right to reject complaints in cases where damage and wear are due to not following these care instructions.

Labor Costs in the Event of Complaints
Sekelskifte is responsible for repairing or replacing defective products according to the applicable warranty conditions and consumer legislation. However, we do not cover indirect costs, such as labor costs for installing or removing defective products, unless explicitly agreed upon. If a faucet or switch breaks and needs to be repaired or replaced, our warranty only covers the cost of the product itself.

Disputes
In the event of a dispute, we follow the recommendations of the National Board for Consumer Disputes.

Business Customers and Complaints
Business customers have the right to complain about a defect in a product within two years from the date of receipt, in accordance with the Sale of Goods Act.

Force Majeure

We always do our best to ensure that you receive your order on time. However, Sekelskifte cannot be held responsible for delays arising from extraordinary events or circumstances beyond our control, which we could not reasonably foresee or overcome without significant financial loss. This includes, but is not limited to, natural disasters, strikes, wars, riots, blockades, government interventions, fires, explosions, boycotts, and other force majeure-like circumstances that cause delays with suppliers and/or delivery.

At Sekelskifte, we highly value your security and privacy. We use the latest security standards to protect your personal information and payment details. All data transfers are conducted through secure, encrypted connections (SSL/TLS) to ensure that no unauthorized parties can access the information you share with us.

We work with reliable and well-known payment services such as Klarna, PayPal, and Adyen to ensure secure and smooth transactions. When you pay by card, your card details are never stored on our servers; all card information is managed directly by our payment partners, who adhere to strict security protocols in line with PCI DSS standards.

Your personal data is handled in accordance with GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation). You always have the right to access the information we have registered about you, correct incorrect data, or request that we delete your information.
