Tips & Facts - New finish with linseed wax

A dining table from the late 19th century is brought back to life with some help from linseed oil! After grinding the worktop, the linseed wax is applied directly on the wood surface with a sponge. The wax should be worked into the longitudinal direction of the wood and be allowed to soak in, which takes about 15 - 20 minutes. The excess is then wiped off with a cloth, preferably in terry. The wax then gives a water-repellent protection that also makes the table easier to clean.

We have used the linseed wax without pigment, but the wax is also available in several different colors. Mix linseed wax with different pigments to find a specific shade, or blend a pigmented wax with the natural one for more transparent result.

The legs and the frame have been painted with linseed oil in the lime green color.
